☯ Your Day Pillar & Day Master

Four Pillars of Destiny (BaZi) turns your birth date and time into four "pillars" of heavenly stems and earthly branches. The stem of your day pillar — the "Day Master" — is said to represent you.

About the Four Pillars & Day Master

Four Pillars of Destiny (BaZi) reads a birth moment as four stem–branch pillars: year, month, day and hour. The day pillar’s stem — the Day Master — is taken as the self. The day pillar here is computed exactly from the unbroken 60-day sexagenary cycle.

※ The year/month boundaries (Beginning of Spring and the solar-term nodes) are computed precisely from solar longitude, and the day pillar from the unbroken sexagenary cycle. Only if you were born on a solar-term transition day can the month pillar (and, at Beginning of Spring, the year pillar) shift with your birth time — such dates show a notice above. The hour pillar, needed for a full chart, requires your birth time and is not shown. The stem images (a great tree, the sun…) are traditional BaZi symbols — astrology, not a scientific claim.
